What can change the price
We keep it to a short, honest list — and you'll always know the number before we come.
- An old coating that has to be stripped. A previously refinished tub that's peeling takes extra time.
- Heavy damage. Deep corrosion in the metal near the drain needs rebuilding, not just filling.
- Unusual tubs. Extra-large or non-standard tubs are quoted from photos.
A clawfoot tub is not extra. Neither is the apron, the caulking or chip repair.

How $635 compares with replacing the tub
The price of a new bathtub is the small part of a replacement. The real cost is everything around it: breaking out and disposing of the old tub, a plumber to disconnect and reconnect, repairing or redoing the tile the tub was set into, and usually patching the floor. On Oʻahu, where materials are shipped in and trades are booked out, that work typically runs well into the thousands and leaves the bathroom out of use for days or weeks.
