Original steel tubs
Porcelain-on-steel alcove tubs from the 1960s–70s, often with a rusted drain ring.
Odorless, quiet and finished in one visit — the practical way to renew a tub in a high-rise with neighbors on every side.
Most of Waikīkī's condo towers and apartment buildings went up in the 1960s and 70s, and a great many units still have the steel bathtub they were built with. Fifty-plus years of residents, renters and visitors later, those tubs are chipped, rust-ringed at the drain and dull on the bottom — while the building around them is fully booked.
Refinishing is made for this situation. We renew the tub in place in about three hours, and it's ready for use the next day.
In a tower, a sprayed coating's solvent smell doesn't stay in your unit. It moves into the corridor and neighboring apartments, and the resident manager hears about it. Our coating is poured, not sprayed, and it's odorless — nothing airborne, nothing to complain about.
For legal short-term rentals and month-to-month units, timing is everything. A refinish fits in a one-night gap: we work in the morning, and the tub is usable the following morning. A bright, glossy tub is one of the cheapest upgrades you can make to listing photos.
A standard tub is a flat $635. Tubs that have been sprayed before and are peeling may cost more — send a photo for a confirmed price.
